Carlsbad Landfill A PPT investigation was performed at the Carlsbad Landfill in Southern CA. Also, several 2" diameter push-in steel collectors were installed. Several of the collectors were multiple discreet chambered for monitoring the gas quality at different elevations. The collectors operated for over ten years until the landfill was closed. The LFG was used in a co-gen. operation. University of Washington Several PPT soundings were performed around the phys-ed building and soccer field at the U of W campus in Seattle, WA. The building and soccer field was built on a closed MSW landfill. This investigation was performed to determine why the area was settling so rapidly. The PPT investigation was able to identify that the soccer field was being over irrigated. OII Landfill Two investigations were conducted at the OII landfill in L.A. County, CA. which is a Superfund Site. The first investigation was conducted to establish the ablity of the PPT to penetrate the trash prism which it did to 250+ feet below the top deck. The purpose of the second investigation was to profile 5 areas of the landfill and compared to the drill-drive method. Push-in probes and internal conduits were installed also. El Sorbrante Landfill A PPT investigation was performed at the El Sorbrante Landfill in Corona, CA in 1995. Three Push-in 2" diameter steel collectors were also installed and operated until 2000 when they were removed so that additional refuse could be added. Palos Verdes Landfill A 3-D LFG Profile was performed and 6 push-in 2" diameter steel collectors were installed. Santiago Landfill To address a monitoring probe that exceeded action levels, several PPT soundings were performed adjacent to the probe. Four push-in 2" diameter steel collectors were installed and connected to the header. An internal conduit was installed to recover LFG in a layer between two vacuum zones indicated in the same sounding. Olinda Alpha Landfill Two monitoring probes were impacted by LFG. PPT profiles were performed adjacent to the two probe areas. Over 1,200 feet of soundings were performed in 2.5 days. (See 3-D Figure on home page) Tajiguas Landfill Performed PPT 3-D Profile. Carson Landfill Performed several PPT soundings and installed several push-in steel collectors to correct an impacted perimeter probe. La Habra Landfill Performed several PPT soundings using tip sensing and side sensing instruments in native soils surrounding the landfill. Also installed several push-in perimeter probes.
